When it comes to driving traffic to your website, there is no nicer word to hear than free and there is no better way to get some free traffic to your website than with free classified ads. There are a number of websites that will allow you to post free advertisement and when worded properly this is a great opportunity for you to effectively increase your website's traffic.

While websites such as Craigslist and Back page are the standard when it comes to this type of traffic generation, there are more and more free classified ad websites popping up with every passing year. No matter which ones you choose to go with you should first make the time to thoroughly review their policies and procedures so that you know what you can and can't post.

This is because most of these places are watched after by the users themselves. So a classified ad that doesn't follow procedure or flat out looks like SPAM will very quickly get fagged and removed before it ever gets to see the light of day.

Instead of using these free classified ads to pedal your latest sale, instead offer something of use to anyone who reads the post. This is where you need to get creative. There are many sections to these free classified ad websites and if you use the proper sections and offer up quality information and only mention your website once towards the end of your post then you are likely to reap wonderful rewards as a result.

It is helpful if you use keywords and key phrases in your classified ad that are relevant to your website. Don't just post on anything in order to get people to open the post and hope you can trick them into clicking onto your website. While that is an increase in traffic, it is the wrong kind of traffic for you to be looking for.

It may take some patience and you may be hit or miss at first, but with time and practice you will begin to see the fruits of your labor with free classified ads. No matter how many potential customers you gain from this type of activity remember that it is a free way to drive more traffic to your website and free traffic is always a good thing.
